Open orifices, expel phlegm. For student syndromes with unclear mind, tinnitus, deafness, dulled sensations.
· Harmonize the middle burner, transform turbid damp. For abdominal pain, epigastric fullness due to damp obstruction of Spleen and Stomach. Also for diarrhea.
· Use internally and topically for wind-cold-damp painful obstruction, trauma and sores.

Dosage: 1-3 qian in either decoctions, pills, or powders. When used topically can either be prepared as a powder or decoction for a wash. Use fresh for high fever or coma.

Caution: Caution if Yin xu with heat signs, or if irritability and shi sweat, vomiting blood, or spermatorrhea.
May antagonize Ma Huang.
