NOTES:
This formula is particularly popular in China as a general tonic for aging patients. Schisandra WU WEI ZI and Polygala YUAN ZHI lead the formula to the heart, making it helpful as a heart tonic for qi and blood. The name in English is “Nourish the Ying”, referring to the ying qi that is carried though the acupuncture channels to nourish the internal organs. Although the original formula called for Ginseng REN SHEN, Codonopsis DANG SHEN has been substituted.

CAUTION:
Discontinue during colds and flu, as tonics tend to drive pathogenic factors into the interior.

INGREDIENTS:
Codonopsis (Dang Shen), Atractylodes (Bai Zhu), Astragalus (Huang Qi), Angelica (Dang Gui), Glycyrrhiza (Gan Cao), Cinnamomum (Rou Gui), Citrus (Chen Pi), Angelica (Dang Gui), Zizyphus Jujube (Da Zao), Paeonia (Bai Shao), Rehmannia (Shu Di Huang), Schisandra (Wu Wei Zi)
