indications:
1) to clear away toxic material, relieve abscess and promote pus drainage — for acute appendicitis, pulmonary abscess (lungs), and skin infection. Recently also used for pancreatitis and tonsillitis.
2) to remove blood stasis (stoppage of normal blood flow) and alleviate pain — for abdominal pain and menorrhalgia due to blood statis, chest pain, etc.
3) to tranquilize — for vexation, insomnia, insanity.
