taste and property: bitter, cold

therapeutic meridian: liver, large intestine

action: to eliminate heat from blood by cooling, to nourish the liver and purge the liver fire
hemostatic and emollient.

Indication: hemorrhoids, hematuria, uterine bleeding, constripation, stuffy sensation in the chest, dizziness, headache, red eyes and hypertension.

Contra- indication: fror a pregnant woman; or a person with hypofunction of spleen and stomach, with cold sensation.

Chemical component: genistein, sophoricoside, sophorabioside, kaempferol-glycoside-c, sophoraflavonoloside, rutin, sophorose.

Recommended dosage: 8-16 gm.
