Botanical Name: Aconitum carmichaeli Debx.

Pharm Name: Radix Aconitii

Taste and Property : Pungent, btter, hot, very toxic

Action: 1) Anti- rheumatic- relieve pain with cold and dampness
2) To warm all the channels
3) Analgesic

Dosage: 3g – 9g

Indication: 1) Rheumatic arthritis
2) Headache, migraine headache
3) Abdominal pain and coldness
4) Local anesthetic for surgery

Also Used For:

Orally, Fu Zi / Aconite is used for pain, facial paralysis, joint pain, arthritis, gout, rheumatic complaints, inflammation, pleurisy, pericarditis sicca, fever, skin and mucosal diseases, disinfection, and wound treatment.
Topically, Fu Zi / Aconite is used as a counterirritant in liniment.
Historically, Fu Zi / Aconite has been used orally as a cardiac depressant and an agent to induce mild sweating. Aconite has been used topically for facial neuralgia, rheumatism, and sciatica.
