Common Name: Fenugreek Seed

Taste and Property: Pungent, bitter, very warm

Therapeutic Meridian: Kidney, Liver.

Function: Warms the Kidney, reduces dampness. For Kidney Yang deficiency with cold or stagnant Qi. Disperses wind-cold-damp, reduces pain. Esp. for cold hernia leading to abdominal pain, cold-damp leg Qi with cold feet, swelling, edema.

Contra-indication: For a pregnant woman; or a person with fire symptoms due to deficiency of Yin

Combination: 1. With Fu Zi for pain and cold
2. With Xiao Hui Xiang for wind-cold-damp.

Caution: Not from damp heat or heat from yin xu.

Dosage: 1-3 jian. Use raw and dry-fried.
