Ma Xing Zhi Ke Pian 麻杏止咳片

FUNCTION:
Stop cough, Calm asthma, Clear lung heat, Eliminate sputum. Use to treat cough caused by Lung Heat due to OPI Heat. Use to treat asthma associated with lung heat. It is primarily used to treat chronic bronchitis, if the patient presents with Heat signs. Chronic bronchitis cases have occasional acute bronchitis- like flare-ups where Heat signs are present. This formula will clear the heat and reduce the fever. Some western medicine disease applications include the following: Pneumonia, flu, bronchitis.

INGREDIENTS:
Herba Ephedrae (Ma Huang) 5%, Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis (Gan Cao) 12%,Semen Pruni Armeniacae (Xing Ren) 15%, Radix Platycodi Grandiflori (jie Geng) 22%, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae (Chen Pi) 12%, Gypsum (Shi Gao) 12%, Talcum (Hua Shi) 11%, Honey (Feng Mi) 11%

CAUTION:
Do not use if you are pregnant. Any herbal prescription used during pregnancy should be administrated and monitored by a qualified practitioner. Patient has high blood pressure, use this carefully and use only the normal dose. The formula contains Ma Huang, Chinese Ephedra, which can increase blood pressure. Ephedra Ma Huang can cause anxiety, insomnia, or palpitations in patients with deficiency of qi. Monitor use and adjust accordingly, including not taking in the evening.
