To promote the flow of vital energy and relive pain. to dispel cold and warm the spleen and stomach, to keep the air or vital energy downward to treat hiccough and asthma. use for thoracic-abdominal distension with pain, vomiting, hiccough, bronchitic asthma and pulmonary emphysema.

Taste and Property: Pungent, bitter and warm

Therapeutic Meridian: Spleen, stomach, kidney, lung

Contra-indication: for a person with excess fire symptoms caused by deficiency of Yin; or with prolapse of uro-genital organs due to deficiency of Qi.
