Texture hard, uneasily broken, the slices 2~4mm thick, uneven on margin, the remained bark yellowish-brown, wood yellowish-brown or pale yellow, with yellowish-white radial striations and cracks, vessel pores scattered densely. Pith relatively small, whitish or yellowish-brown, occasionally hollowed. Odorless; taste, weak.

Action:

to remove heat and induce dieresis, to stimulate menstrual discharge, and promote lactation.

Indications

edema, stranguria oliguria; arthralgia; amenorrhea; lack of lactation.
