To treat the excess syndrome due to internal retention of water in the thorax or abdomen, marked by thoracic or hypochondric pain, cough and dyspenia, fullness and solidness of the epigastric region, fullness and distension with ascites, it is used with Radix Euphorbiae Pekinensis, Folium et Flos Wikstroemiae Chamaedaphnis, Semen Sinapis Albae, Semen Pharbitidis, Radix Aucklandiae, etc.
To remove toxic heat, to reduce heat in blood, to cure sore throat, and to cause subsidence of swelling. Use for tonsillitis, mumps, sore throat; also used for prevention and treatment of infections hepatitis and measles.
